The Research And Exploration Of Gray Tone Painting

The harmony,subtlety and elegance of the gray tone attracted me deeply.As a painting artist,my thesis summarizes the result of practicing gray color and gray tone in oil painting work which is based by studying the color theories and researching of the artist's gray tone works.In my graduate creation "RESPECT FOR REMBRANDT" I have studied the balance between the amount of gray color in the proportion to the intensity of visual contrast in oil painting.The series work of Danxia Landform I tried different keynotes and brightness contrasts of gray color brought out the different visual and psychological feelings.I describe the construction of the gray system in the aspect of brightness,hue,purity and color and the control process of gray tone.During The same time I learned a method of thin oil painting method with white impression high grade gray which is inspired from the watercolor in practice.
