Research On Traditional Handicraft Design Innovation In Intangible Cultural Heritage

Traditional handicraft is an significant part of intangible cultural heritage.It not only contains unique artistic form,carries the process of Chinese history and civilization,but also witnesses the development of social economy and traditional culture.Although traditional handicraft has remained for thousands of years,it is facing a crisis because of the development of modern industrial civilization.In recent years,with the national attention to cultural construction,the protection and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage have been strengthened,creating new opportunities for the development of traditional handicraft.Paper-cut art as one of the top ten traditional handicraft,has a definite representativeness.This study takes Meishan paper-cut with unique regional characteristics as the research object,explores the design innovation of traditional handicraft in the context of modern visual,pays attention to the combination of theory and practice,aiming at opening up a new way for the development and innovation of traditional handicraft and promoting the protection and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage.On the basis of the survey of Meishan region in centralHunan Province and the relevant information gained by interviewing the inheritors of Meishan paper-cut,as well as extensive access to relevant local literature,this study uses comparative research,interdisciplinary research and case study methods on the basis of existing literature,combines the theory of folk art and intangible cultural heritage,and uses modern visual design methods to research the design innovation of non-hereditary traditional handicraft.The research is mainly divided into five parts: The first part elaborates the relevant background,research purpose and significance,content and method of non-hereditary handicraft,as well as the innovation of this study.The second part studies the origin and change of Meishan paper-cut,a traditional handicraft,from the aspects of cultural soil,lifestyle,folk beliefs and artistic forms,and analyses its historical and realistic factors and the characteristics of its past and present.The third part analyses the bone and blood of Meishan paper-cut,and summarizes the cultural connotation and artistic characteristics of Meishan paper-cut from the aspects of cultural gene,aesthetic feelings,paper-cut character and decorative implication.The fourth part,based on the aesthetic connection between non-hereditary handicraft and modern design,summarizes and analyses the design principles and methods of non-hereditary handicraft through representative cases study.The fifth part,combining traditional creation with modern aesthetic design methods,deduces the practical process of Meishan paper-cut design,and extracts and redesigns the visual elements based on the paper visual culture gene,then realizes the artistic transformation and application on this basis.The conclusion part summarizes the innovation of traditional handicraft design and looks forward to the future.While exploring ways for innovation and development of Meishan paper-cut,the author hopes to provide a reference method for modern design system of other traditional handicraft,so that traditional handicraft design can become vital and traditional handicraft can "live".
