As an important part of the vocabulary knowledge,collocation has attracted widespread attention of scholars.However,most studies on collocation show it has become a great challenge for learners who want to learn English well.Due to linguistic and cultural differences,learners tend to make collocation errors.The focus of these studies is mostly on the detailed definitions and classifications of collocation.But they are not clearly defined in the curriculum standards.So this thesis would not define collocation exactly.Most of them are theoretical studies or their data are non-native language corpus.And limited studies probe into the collocation teaching in class.Therefore,based on corpus,this thesis studied collocation teaching to improve the efficiency of collocation teaching in senior high school.Based on Input Hypothesis,Lexical Grammar and Autonomous Learning,this study addresses the following three questions:1)What are the effects of corpus-based collocation teaching on students' collocation learning in terms of receptive knowledge?2)What are the effects of corpus-based collocation teaching on students' collocation learning in terms of productive knowledge?3)To what extent does corpus-based collocation teaching lead to the development of students' autonomous learning?One hundred and thirty students from a senior high school wererecruited as subjects in this study.They were tested by tests and questionnaires.The data were then analyzed by SPSS.The major findings of this study are as follows.1)Corpus-based collocation teaching method can significantly improve students' receptive collocation level.2)Productive collocation level can also be improved.But this method has different effects on students' receptive and productive collocation knowledge.3)It can improve students' belief of autonomous learning and then develop their good learning habits.The main findings indicate that corpus can provide students with materials that are easy to understand and the new learning style,so as to improve their ability to learn collocation.Through this study,we can notice the importance of collocation to which teachers should pay more attention.And corpus represents advanced educational idea.Teachers should keep up with the trend of education.In view of the fact that this teaching experiment is only an attempt at collocation teaching.The inconvenient teaching environment,limited teaching objects and time lead to the limitations of the conclusion.So the corpus-based collocation teaching in senior high schools still needs further improvement.
