| The United State aid to China during the period of comprehensive anti-Japanese War was an important part of the history of Sino-U.S.relations in the 20 th century. After the Lugouqiao incident, the U.S.government and people began to provide assistance to wartime China for humanitarian and national interests. As a window for the CPC’s internal and external propaganda in Chongqing——Xinhua Daily, which conducted an in-depth and detailed report on the U.S.aid activities during the comprehensive anti-Japanese War.The news reports can be divided into two Parts:the one is the U.S.government aid to China, and the other is the U.S.non-government aid to China. The former includes four dimensions: economic, military, cultural, and political aid, while the latter is more inclined to the aid activities of the American people and organizations. All things considered, the content of the aid reports shows three stage characteristics:the CPC’s actively sought the U.S.aid in the early stage, reported that U.S.aid cooperated with the allied forces in the middle stage and changed its attitude towards the U.S.aid in the last stage. In order to better propagandize the U.S.aid to China,Xinhua Daily adopted a series of Strategies in the propaganda process, for example, pay attention to the design of news headlines, the combination of positive and negative publicity and adhere to dialectics and give priority to positive publicity, which vividly records the CPC’s struggle for U.S.aid during the war, propagandized and exposed the Kuomintang reactionaries ’conspiracy to launch a civil war. What is even more rare was that Xinhua Daily report on U.S.aid had issued a different voice from the Nationalist government, which revealed that U.S.help the Chinese people to resist Japanese aggression in addition to gradually become a weapon of Chinese civil war.By reexamining the U.S aid to China from the perspective of Xinhua Daily,we can not only understand the positive contribution that the newspaper actively strives for and propagandizes for the anti-Japanese war,but it can also reappear the party and political disputes behind the U.S.aid reports and the changes in the development of the CPC’s diplomatic strategy toward the United States. |
