The National English Curriculum for Senior High Schools(2017 version)clearly states that “As the basis for developing the core literacy of students' English subjects, the content of English course mainly includes six elements: thematic context, discourse type, linguistic knowledge, cultural knowledge, language skills and learning strategies.Language skills are an important part of language use”.It can be seen that in the process of reading English, students need to use the surrounding environment and give full play to the comprehension skills such as listening, reading and looking, which plays a vital role in promoting the cultivation and training of reading skills. At present, most of the high school English reading class teaching examples in China are not optimistic about improving the students' corresponding reading skills. Therefore, this article uses the “The National English Curriculum for Senior High Schools(2017 version)” as an important theoretical basis, and divides high school English reading skills into generalization skills, prediction skills, guess skills and judgment skills to improve student analysis problems, problem solving, and the ability to access information and process information. The method used in this study is the experimental research method. The two classes which come from Liaocheng No.4 High School participating in the experiment are divided into experimental class and controlled class. The experimental class adopts the teaching mode based on “Four Three Six” English reading skills training, while the control class adopts the regular English reading class teaching mode, this article uses SPSS24.0 software for data processing and analysis of students' pre-experiment and post-experiment reading scores to contrast the changes in reading skills before and after the experiment.Meanwhile,a questionnaire survey is done for all the students of the experimental class and controlled class and in pre-experiment,which is aimed at analyzing the English reading interest and reading attitude of students. And the researcher does a questionnaire survey for the students in the experimental class in post-experiment and its aim is to analyze the English reading interest and reading attitude of students after using the “Four Three Six” teaching model based on English reading skills. The main question in this paper is whether the “Four Three Six” teaching model based on English reading skills can effectively improve students' reading skills? Is the teaching model based on the development of English reading skills effective in improving students' interest of learning? We ponder the reading skills as four areas below:(1)Generalization skills(2)Prediction skills(3)Guess skills(4)Judgment skillsThe experimental results show that the “Four Three Six” teaching model based on reading skills can improve students' generalization skills, prediction skills, guess skills and judgment skills, and it can effectively mobilize students' interest in learning.
