With the deepening of the invasion of China by western colonialism, the missionary attitude of the officials from Guangdong and Guangxi was obviously time-limited in the late Qing dynasty. From 1840 to 1859,officials from Guangdong and Guangxi adopted a relaxation and restriction policy.During this period, although the anti-Christianity cases policy of the officials of the two regions was carried out in accordance with the provisions of the unequal treaties between China and the west, there were widespread restrictions on Christianity in the real case handling, because this mainly affected the southeast coastal regions of the trading ports, which were mainly influenced by western powers. From 1860 to 1899,most officials in Guangdong and Guangxi were divided between the relaxation policy and the restriction policy.During this period, the spread of Christianity broke through the previous restrictions on regional and administrative missionary work and penetrated into the inland center of China, which was all over China. Therefore, the Qing Government required provincial officials to "handle" Christian affairs such as religious cases on a par under foreign pressure.Although most of the officials in the provinces of Guangdong and Guangzhou followed the requirements of the central government of the Qing dynasty to deal with the problem of equality, they generally adopted the strategy of topless tactics to suppress the people and reduce the friction between China and foreign countries. As a result, the incidence rate of missionary cases in the provinces of Guangdong and Guangxi ranks the first in China during this period. From 1900 to 1909,most officials from Guangdong and Guangdong were protective of the christianity church.During this period, the anti-Christianity cases attitudes of the central government of the Qing Dynasty were often repeated because of the separatist crisis of the imperialist powers and the influence of the Yihetuan Movement. But officials from that two regions followed the central government's rules selective. The officials of the two regions still participated in The Mutual Protection of Southeast China with the protection of foreigners and foreign religions as the content even in the period of the edict of declaring war issued by the central government of the Qing dynasty in 1900.Therefore,to protect the Christian church became the mainstream of the Christian policy of the two broad officials in this period. In contrast to the nature of the internal affairs of ancient Christianity spread in the broad-breadth,the Christian affairs in the late Qing Dynasty have become a diplomatic problem between Chinese and western affairs.Against the background of the deepening of the invasion of China by western powers, the anti-Christianity cases policies of the officials of the two regions, although influenced by western forces, central government and local government, have increasingly shown their own autonomy, which has not only formed the evolution characteristics of the anti-Christianity cases policies of the officials of the two regions, but also had an important impact on the evolution of the later world and the whole society.
