Hundreds of years of the development of foreign language teaching is a great masterpiece of many schools of thought that evolves,blossoms,and contends.Viewing the changes of them,we can see that each teaching method can't completely avoid grammar teaching.Although grammar teaching is neglected or even criticized in some teaching models because of its vapidness,it plays an incredible role in language learning,especially in foreign language learning.The era of post-teaching methods has arrived.Only by combining classical teaching methods with current teaching practices,exploring their progress in the context of the new era,and making enough improvements to optimize the current teaching methods,can the effective high school English grammar teaching break through the prison of paradigm,become rejuvenated and regain vitality.Based on this ideology's guide,combined with related educational theories and teaching practices,this paper explores a new approach to the development and innovation of Grammar-Translation Method—the Story-based Approach to English Grammar Teaching,that is,through appropriate methods,we study the adaptation of some systematic grammar knowledge which is unfolded in the form of story,and explore its role and practical value of English grammar teaching in high schools.Meanwhile,the Story-based Approach to English Grammar Teaching is preliminarily established,and its actual effect is verified through related experiments in teaching practice.Studies have shown that the Story-based Approach to English Grammar Teaching plays a significant role in improving students' individual English scores and improving English performance in classes and even schools.It is a progressive,scientific,effective and operable practical teaching model that has been generally welcomed by teachers and students.It is believed that after continuous improvement and optimization,this teaching model will surely contribute more in exploring new opportunities for English grammar teaching in high schools in the new era.
