Research On Greeting Words In The Letter

Greeting words in the letter that express the author's wishes or congratulations to the object of the letter are usually at the end of a letter.As a kind of special language phenomenon,in light of the basic theory of writing and the article science,the theoretical knowledge of linguistics,culturology and other disciplines,this thesis provides a detailed analysis of the origin,functions,application principles and writing characteristics of Chinese greetings words in the letter.In terms of the source flow,greeting words in the letter originated the rise of sacrificial activities in the ancient period.They were conceived from the pre-Qin dynasty to Han dynasty and developed in the Wei,Jin and Tang dynasties,and then matured in the Song and Yuan dynasties and finally boomed in the Ming and Qing dynasties.They have been extended for thousands of years and still prevail today.From the functional point,as a symbol of language and culture,they have the cultural and social functions.The former one embraces the cultural inheritance and integration of values.Cultural inheritance is mainly the inheritance of Chinese self-humility culture and the concept of "harmony".The integration function of values needs to be analyzed from two perspectives.From the diachronic view,it is manifested in the integration of the concept of "valuing propriety" and the traditional outlook of suitability and advantage in different times of China.In terms of synchronicity,it is presented the integration of different values in the same era.The social function can be subdivided into balancing relationships and social cognition.The former one is mainly reflected in interactions between persons,between enterprises and between the state and the public.The latter one is that people can perceive the changes and development of the society from greeting words in the letter.The practical writing and application of greeting words deal with three principles,including the identity consistency,the mutual coalition between the subject and the object,and appropriate words,among which the second one is based on the difficult "circumstances" and "time" and shows different greeting words in writing and use.From the view of static text,the special letter features stylized in writing style and solemn in language style,the general epistle features flexible in writing style and single parallels diversified personality in language style.
