| With the development of online We media,more and more foreigners begin to shoot cross-cultural short videos to record their life in China.They tell Chinese stories from the perspective of "the other",and produce many excellent original videos.Dobo high school is one of the teaching sites of Confucius Institute of ELTE University in Hungary.It is located in the small city Eger which is in the northeast of Hungary,and it is also the only high school in the region that offers Chinese courses.In order to deepen students’ understanding of contemporary China and cultivate their interest in Chinese culture,the school has set up a special course on social life in contemporary China.However,due to the lack of Chinese teaching resources and imperfect evaluation system,the attendance rate of students is low,and their enthusiasm for learning are not high.Cross-cultural short videos cover a wide range of topics,are humorous in language,and have a short duration,which shows the lifestyle and spiritual outlook of contemporary Chinese people.At the sane time,bilingual subtitles can help students better understand the video content,and the unique narrative perspective of”the other" 1s more likely to resonate with students.Therefore,it is necessary and feasible to use cross-cultural short videos in the course of social life in contemporary China.Based on the previous research and combined with my own experience,this thesis is divided into five chapters:The first chapter is the introduction.This chapter mainly introduces the significalce of the topic,research content and research methods,and literature review.In the part of’literature review,it mainly introduces the previous research on Hungarian Chinese teaching and the previous research on the development and use of audio-visual multimedia Chinese teaching resources.The second chapter analyzes the necessity and feasibility.The application of cross-cultural short videos conform to the characteristics of the course and the requirements of learners.The wide range of topics.Humorous language.terseness,bilingual subtitles and "the other" perspectives make the use of cross-cultural short videos feasible.The third chapter is the presentation and analysis of the teaching cases of cross-cultural short videos applied to the course of social life in contemporary China.This chapter analyzes the specific application ot cross-cultural short videos from three aspects:video selection,video broadcast and processing,and teaching implementation.In terms of video selection,the selection principles ot pertinence,relevance and cultural are clarified;In terms of playback skills,there are three playback modes:clip playback,complete playback,and the combination of clip playback and complete playback,with two playback speeds of constant speed playback and slow down playback;In terms of teaching implementation,combined with specific teaching cases,this thesis describes the implementation of cross-cultural short videos in four teaching links:lead-in,lecture,cultural relativity between China and Hungaily,and cultural proposal.The fourth chapter is the teaching effect analysis and teaching suggestions.This chapter analyzes the teaching effect of cross-cultural short videos through classroom observation,after class feedback and interview records of three students,and puts forward three teaching suggestions:Firstly,the video content should conform to the characteristics of learners;Secondly,the teaching should pay attention to the recurrence of real scenes;Thirdly,teachers should pay attention to the cultivation of students’ cross-cultural communication meaning.The fifth chapter is the conclusion.Including the research conclusion,research significance and research deficiencies.For Chinese learners,this study provides them a new way to understand Chinese culture;For Chinese teachers,this study can help future teachers better apply cross-cultural short videos to teaching.It can be used for reference in video selection,video broadcast and processing,teaching implementation.etc;For the school,this study has a certain reference value for the school’s Chinese curriculum and the development of multimedia Chinese teaching resources.Due to the unique characteristics of the curriculum in Dobo high school,the course of social life in contemporary China is mainly aimed at the students of zero basic Chinese class,which makes the study not helpful to the middle and senior level Chinese classes or other types of courses.I also hope to have more opportunities to accumulate teaching experience and deepen the research on this topic in the future. |
