On English-Chinese Translation Of Film Script From The Perspective Of Communicative Translation Theory

Duet for Cannibals is the first film written and d:irected by Susan Sontag,a famous author and critic in American.The film script was completed in 1968 and published in 1969.Based on the translation of the excerpts of Duet for Cannibals,this thesis adopts Newmark's Communicative translation theory to analyze the problems and strategies in translation practice from three aspects:terminology,character dialogue and scene description.This paper is divided into four chapters.The first chapter mainly introduces the research background,research significance and methods.The second chapter analyzes the characteristics of film script,introduces the main content of Communicative translation theory and the translation advantages of Communicative translation theory in transmitting information and adjusting sentence structure.The third chapter analyzes concrete application in Communicative translation theory through translation cases;the fourth chapter sunmarizes the experience,deficiencies and proolems tihat need to be solved in translation.
