An ERP Research On The Influence Of Trait Anxiety Level On The Directed Forgetting Of Emotional Memory

Directional forgetting is the phenomenon that the individuals' memory performance are reduced according to the remembering and forgetting indicators during the learning phase.It is an important paradigm for studying memory and forgetting in the laboratory.Based on the paradigm item-method of directed forgetting,this study uses words and pictures as experimental materials to explore the influence of trait anxiety level on the directed forgetting of emotional memory.This study consists of two parts:in the first study,takes the words as the experimental material,using the mixed experimental design of 2(group:high trait anxiety group,low trait anxiety group)×3(word type:positive,neutral,negative)×2(indicator:TBR,TBF).We explored the effect of trait anxiety on the directed forgetting of emotional words.Study 2 uses a more eco-efficient picture as the experimental material,using the mixed experimental design of 2(group:high trait anxiety group,low trait anxiety group)×3(picture type:positive,neutral,negative)×2(indicator:TBR,TBF).We further explored the effect of trait anxiety on the directed forgetting of emotional picture.through experimental research,the following conclusions are drawn:First,the low trait anxiety group has significant directed forgetting effect under positive,neutral and negative words;the high trait anxiety group can not make directed forgetting of negative words.,and recognize more negative words that require forgettingSecond,under the picture material,there was a significant directed forgeting effect in the low trait anxiety group;the high trait anxiety group had the loss of directed forgetting effectThird,the directed forgetting effect is interfered by negative images.Compared with positive and neutral images,negative images have the loss of directed forgetting effect.Fourth,in the re-recognition phase of 600?800ms,the high trait anxiety group induced positive volatility for negative words than the neutral and positive words,indicating that negative emotional words can cause deeper processing in the brain of high trait anxiety group.Fifth,in the learning phase of 250?800ms,the TBR item(indicating to remember)triggered a larger parietal region positive wave than the TBF item(indicating forgotten),reflecting the individual's more elaborate selective paraphrase encoding process for the TBR indicator..Sixth,In the re-recognition phase of 400?600ms,the TBR-R project(Indication to remember and remember)induced the old and new effects of the frontal and parietal region,reflecting the familiarity and recall process;the TBF-R project(Indication to remember but forgotten)only induced the new and old effects of the frontal region,reflecting the familiar processing process.
