Design And Development Of Intelligent Recommendation System For English Vocabulary Learning

With the advent of the era of artificial intelligence,the hashrate of computers has been greatly improved,and the traditional online learning can no longer meet people's personalized needs.Taking the widely used English vocabulary learning App in the learning software market as an example,there are various factors that make it difficult for learners to improve their learning efficiency and apply what they have learned,thus,reducing their enthusiasm for learning.The research sorted out the history and current situation of recommendation system and online education at home and abroad,collected data from 68 users about the most important qualities of the vocabulary learning softwares through interviews and questionnaires,and looked for the functional defects.Secondly,according to the instruction theories such as the learning outcomes,learning styles and the taxonomy of instructional objectives,learner ability model and learning style model for vocabulary study are constructed to provide theoretical support for the collection of user behavior data.Based on demand investigation and preliminary literature research,the process design,database design and interface design of each functional module of the software were completed.Finally,the paper explores the realization of the personalized intelligent recommendation function using machine learning in vocabulary learning software.Combining intelligent recommendation technology with vocabulary learning solves the problems at present.The innovation of this platform lies in: 1.Using NLP technology to solve the problem of the obsolete corpus and speed up the update frequency of the lexicon.Users can access to practical words related to their profession.2.Mining co-occurrence words and similar words to solve the "cold start" problem when there is no sufficient historical user behavior data for intelligent recommendation.3.Add the thumb up and comment function to improve learners' sense of social participation,and gather swarm intelligence.4.Machine learning is used to improve the accuracy of personalized recommendation of new words on the platform and assist users to expand their stocks of words rapidly.The intelligent recommendation system proposed in this study can accurately recommend words for user with different needs,learning motivations or learning abilities,so as to improve the efficiency of memorizing words by software for future learners.
