With the rapid development of the Internet,Internet addiction is becoming more and more common among college students.Internet addiction not only affects their academic performance,but also has a significant impact on their physical,mental and social development.Therefore,the research on Internet addiction of college students has gradually become the focus of psychological research.In recent years,researchers have found that one of the most important factors affecting college students’ Internet addiction is negative life events,but the mechanism remains to be further studied.The current study focused on college students’ Internet addiction,and explored the effects of negative life events on college students’ Internet addiction,as well we the mediating roles of self-efficacy of Internet use and self-efficacy of Internet control.Findings are as follows,(1)There are differences in age,only child and non-only child among college students with internet addiction disorder.Specifically,on the one hand,with the promotion of grade,the level of Internet Addiction of college students decreases;on the other hand,the score of Internet Addiction of non-only children is significantly lower than that of only-child.(2)There are age differences between College Students’ self-efficacy of Internet use and self-efficacy of Internet control.With the improvement of grade,the level of self-efficacy of network use and self-efficacy of network control increases gradually.(3)The overall score and each dimension of negative life events had significant positive effects on the overall score and each dimension of Internet addiction.(4)The overall score and each dimension of negative life events had significant negative effects on self-efficacy of Internet control and did not have significant effects on self-efficacy of Internet use.(5)Self-efficacy of Internet control had significant negative effects on all dimensions of Internet addiction.Self-efficacy of Internet use did not have significant effects on all dimensions of Internet addiction.(6)Self-efficacy of Internet use did not mediate the relationship between College Students’ negative life events and Internet addiction.Self-efficacy of Internet control mediated the relationship between negative life events and Internet addiction.
