| The Tiger Head Cap is a profound symbol of Chinese tiger totem culture,as well as a valuable spiritual heritage of the Chinese nation.People have inherited the reverence for the King of Beasts,as well as the respect for the tiger’s divine power,which has given it the power to repel evil spirits and bless safety.By extracting the decorative elements of the Tiger Head Cap,the author combines them with the methods of expression in different creative fields of ceramic materials and incorporates them into the three sets of ceramics with local artistic characteristics and aesthetics were created as part of the ceramic decoration: porcelain panel painting of the god of tiger,purple pottery tea cans and cups of the god of tiger,in order to make new attempts by presenting the traditional element of the Tiger Head Cap on ceramics.This paper is a systematic summary of this Graduation Creation which includes three aspects : source of inspiration,thinkings during inspiration and creative process.During the creative process,the author has a further understanding of the new color on ceramic glaze and the craft of purple pottery,through found problems and solved them.Moreover,the author earned valuable experiences of ceramic,especially purple pottery which strengthen the professional knowledge background and practical abilities,also appreciated the beauty of Chinese tradition and ceramic craft. |
