| English writing can reflect students’ comprehensive ability to listen,speak,read and write language.Due to the heavy workload of most English teachers and the number of class students is large.Therefore,teachers are unable to correct students’ compositions in time and give feedback.What is more,students are unwilling to write short passages.So the lever of students’ writing is not high.Peer evaluation,is students evaluate compositions among their peers in small groups.In recent years,many scholars have app lied peer evaluation to the practice of English writing teaching,and they have achieved results.But most scholars apply peer evaluation to college students,and a few apply to high school students.Therefore,the author applied peer evaluation to the high school English writing process.This study is based on the theory of process teaching method,the theory of the recent development area of Vygosky,the theory of cooperative learning and the theory of social learning.The experimental subjects are the two parallel classes in Senior Grade 1,which are being taught by the author.Class six is regarded as an experimental class,and Class five is regarded as a control class.There are 60 students in per class,and the author conducted the experimental research for two and a half months.All the students must write a short passage every two weeks and they write passage for five times totally.Research Question: 1.What is the emotional attitude of high school students towards peer evaluation? 2.Can peer evaluation improve students’ English writing? 3.Is peer evaluation influence consistent on students with high,medium and low writing levels? The data is come from this experiment by using experimental,investigative and conversational methods.The data are analyzed by SPSS19.0 and then the experimental results are obtained.The results show that: 1.Students have a positive attitude towards the application of peer evaluation to English writing,and most students think peer peer evaluation helps to improve students’ English writing level.2.Peer evaluation can improve students’ English writing level.3.Peer evaluation has more influence on middle and low level students than on students with high writing level.Through the analysis of the experimental results,the author thinks that peer evaluation can be applied to English writing teaching.Students give peer feedback in time and they can also get feedback in time.This can not only improve students’ self-confidence,but also cultivate students’ sense of unity and cooperation.Combining peer evaluation with teacher feedback can improve students’ English writing level more effectively. |
