Social psychology has always emphasized how individuals perceive,understand,and explain this complex society.Studying the formation of individual impressions and group impressions is very important for understanding how people see others and social groups.The article explores and tests the processing methods and processes of individual impression formation and group impression formation through three studies.The first research is a test of previous studies,that is,which mathematical model is more suitable for the information processing mode of people in the formation of individual impressions.Then explore the information processing model of group impression formation.Study 2 explores the processing model of people's group impression formation on the dimension of passion.The third study explores the processing mode of group impression formation in the ability dimension.Study 1 uses the individual business card method.By setting the individual's enthusiasm and ability value in the business card,the processing mode of individual impression formation is tested to observe whether it conforms to the weighted average mode.Through discount fitting and t-test,the results show that the processing mode of individual impression formation is more in line with the weighted average model.Study 2 is the promotion of Research 1.Examine the processing patterns that form group impressions.Study 2A uses a three people group business card method.Under the dimension of enthusiasm,by assigning values to the enthusiasm of the group members in the business card,it explores the processing mode of group impression formation.Through polyline fitting and t-test,the results show that the processing pattern of group impression formation in the enthusiasm dimension is more in line with the average model.Study 2B is a test of the universality of the results of Study 2A.The group size was expanded to five people,and the group business card method was used to explore the group passion impression processing mode.The result is consistent with 2A,that is,in the dimension of enthusiasm,the processing mode of group impression formation conforms to the average model.Study 3 is a supplement to Study 2.Explore the processing mode of group impression formation on the ability dimension.Study 3 A takes a group of 3 people as an example,and uses the group business card method to test the processing mode of group impression formation by assigning the ability traits of group members in the business card.The results of Study 3 A show that group impression formation in the ability dimension is more in line with the weighted average model.Study 3B is a test of the universality of the results of Study 3 A under the conditions of a five-person population.The results show that the results of study 3B are consistent with 3A,that is,in the ability dimension,the processing mode of group impression formation may be more in line with the weighted average model.Study 3C is an exploration of the reasons for the inconsistency between the results of Study 2 and Study 3.One possible reason for this difference is because group enthusiasm and ability are weighted differently in the individual mind.Study 3C compares the weights of the enthusiasm dimension and ability dimension in the group through the forced selection method and the distribution method.The results of the chi-square test and the t-test show that there are differences in the psychological weights of the enthusiasm dimension and ability dimension of individuals to the group,and the weight of the ability dimension is significantly greater than the weight of the passion dimension.Based on the above studies,the following conclusions can be drawn:the processing mode of individual impression formation is more in line with the weighted average model;in the enthusiasm dimension,the processing mode of group enthusiasm impression is more in line with the average model;in the ability dimension,the processing mode of group ability impression formation More in line with the weighted average model.
