As a world language,English plays an important role in the education reform.More and more scholars pay their attentions to the English teaching.The interaction between teacher and students is an integral part of English teaching.The teacher-student interaction in classroom has been studied in detailed by the predecessors.However,the author found the teacher-student interaction in junior middle school English class is not satisfactory during the practice teaching time.There are some problems with participation,question,answer and evaluation in the teacher-student interaction.Therefore,in order to better understand the current situation of interaction between teacher and students in junior middle school English class and give suggestions to optimize the teacher-student interaction,the author did the research in the English class of a junior middle school in Wuhan.The samples of this study are the English teacher and students in the target class which the author practiced in.And the author analyzes and researches the current situation of teacher-student interaction in junior middle school English class with the help of observation and interview from the perspective of ecological pedagogy.The research questions are:1.What is the current situation of T-S interaction in junior middle school English class?2.What are the main influencing factors of T-S interaction in junior middle school English class?3.What can be done to achieve better T-S interaction in junior middle school English class from the perspective of ecological pedagogy?The author concluded that,first of all,the current situation of the teacher-student interaction is shown from two aspects,the types of teacher-student interaction and the pattern of teacher-student interaction.The mostly main types of teacher-student interaction are teacher-initiated interactions such as the explanation,question,feedback and instruction.And the student-initiated interactions are rare such as answer,question,participation and evaluation.And the main patterns of teacher-student interaction are teacher-the whole class interaction and teacher-individual student interaction,the teacher-group student interaction happened very rare in the junior middle school English class.Second,there are many factors that can affect the interaction between teacher and students.The author analyzed the factors form three aspects,teacher-related factors,student-related factors and environment-related factors with the help of the ecological theory of four elements in the mode of teaching.Finally,the author gives the suggestions to improve the teacher-student interaction in junior middle school English class from the perspective of ecological pedagogy.In addition,this study can help people better understand the real situation of teacher-student interaction in junior middle school English class,provides more data to support the related researches,enriches related researches,analyzes the influencing factors more deeply and also provides some suggestions for the teacher in junior middle school about how to improve the teacher-student interaction in class.For future related researches,expanding the scope of the study,and studying the interaction between teacher and students from more perspectives will get more detailed data,and the conclusion will be more convincing and reasonable.
