Vernacular ink and wash figure paintings are born from realist realistic figure paintings.They are the product of the transformation of traditional Chinese freehand figure paintings and the birth of farming civilization.It first appeared to fulfill the purpose of "literary arts should serve workers,peasants and soldiers," The shackles and subject matter are all along the line of great man's praise.In the exploration and practice of the older generation of artists such as Liu Wenxi and Wang Youzheng,after the reform and opening up,the indigenous ink and wash figure paintings have formed a new look,and their creative perspectives and artistic techniques have changed a lot.After the "85 Fine Arts Trend",influenced by the "local art" and western art concepts,the artists re-interpreted the cultural connotation of the local theme with nostalgia for the local,and also created a lot from their own experience.The outstanding local ink and wash figure painting works have basically established the artistic characteristics of local ink and wash figure paintings.Compared with previous creative models,contemporary vernacular ink and wash figure paintings pay more attention to the details of people's lives,and regard the current situation of rural life,the peasants' survival confusion,and the peasant problems arising in the new period as a new creative perspective.In the decades of reform and opening up,in addition to completing the change of creative perspective,the indigenous ink and wash figure painting has formed a new pen and ink language and connotation in the process of creation.
