A Study On Li Yu's Social Amorous Feelings Dramas

Li Yu whose whole life was miserable and awful had experienced the changes of the Ming and Qing dynasties,and was born at the bottom of the society.Due to the influence of Suzhou opera in the late Ming dynasty,Li Yu came out a great deal of opera works and her social dramas which contained rich social experiences showed the satire and criticism of the dark phenomenon of the late Ming dynasty society,and the flagellation and sorrow of the ancient social reality.Therefore,his operas not only had the enlightened significance,but also had the unique artistic style.This dissertation is divided into three sectors for research:The first chapter introduces the creation environment of Li Yu's social drama.This sector reveals the social significance and artistic features of the playwright's works by sorting out the influences of the social reality,personal growth environment and Suzhou theater environment on Li Yu's drama writing.As a Jiangnan commoner who lived at the bottom of society,Li Yu could only pin his feelings on pen,rebuking the society of the world and satirizing the dark reality.Byplacing Li Yu's social drama in the context of the general environment at that time,we can better understand the meaning and value of her works intuitively.The second part analyzes the desk editor of Li Yu's social drama.As a professional playwright,Li Yu's productions are suitable for both desk reading and on-the-spot demonstration.This chapter reveals the writing rules of Li Yu and why his works can not only appear in the halls of scholar-officials,but also perform in the folk Temple Theater through the analysis of the construction of her social drama structure,the performance of the dramatic conflicts and modeling of typical characters.The third sector studies the stage presentation of Li Yu's social drama.In order to meet the aesthetic needs of the audience and to adapt to the stage performance,the artists have made abundant adaptations of Li Yu's social amorous feelings plays.This chapter uses “CARDS and white” as a stage template to compare it with the original one by one and then finds the contrast that the artist's adaptations are mainly focused on the adding and deleting song cards and banquets,adjusting the color of the feet,breaking through the display of splendor and stuff like that.Li Yu's social amorous feelings dramas have been stage-adapted again and again,improving the theatricaland ornamental value of the play to a certain degree.
