As we all know that English reading and English writing,as the basic skills for English learning,are both important parts of junior middle high school English teaching.Reading aims to train students to learn English language knowledge and absorb writing skills in reading process.However,in many years of English teaching practice,it is found that writing is a relatively difficult thing for most junior high school students,and it has become a difficulty in junior high school English teaching.To explore the essence of English writing is to use the language knowledge acquired from English reading to express their ideas.Therefore,English reading and writing are integrated for junior high school English teaching.However,the current situation of junior high school English teaching is that there are problems of "emphasizing reading,neglecting writing" and "separating reading and writing teaching",which lead to the difficulty of English writing teaching to obtain the positive promoting effect of English reading teaching.Writing has become a difficulty in junior middle school students' English learning.Not only is it difficult to improve their writing level,but also their interest in English learning is decliningThere is an old saying in Chinese: "Having pored over ten thousand volumes,one can write with godly power".It wisely points out the close relationship between reading and writing,that is,reading is the basis of writing,and writing is the distillation of reading.Thus,the main way to improve students' English writing is to combine reading with writing.It is necessary to carry out the teaching of "reading for writing" in junior middle school English class.In order to alleviate the boredom of junior middle school English learning,improve the level of junior middle school English teaching,and stimulate students' interest in English learning,in line with the principle of "autonomy,exploration and cooperation",it is necessary to develop the inquiry teaching mode in junior middle school English class.Based on the theory of "reading for writing",combined with the current situationof junior high school English Teaching in China,this study designs a teaching experiment to apply the theory to inquiry English classroom,trying to prove that there can be a virtuous circle between English reading and English writing,the former is the cornerstone of the latter.In this paper,two classes,class one and class two,grade seven,are selected as experimental class and control class respectively in Chongqing 47 middle school.The students of the two classes use the same teaching materials and are taught by the same English teacher.The curriculum schedule is completely the same.Then different English teaching methods are adopted.The experimental class adopts the inquiry teaching method of "reading for writing",the control class adopts the traditional teaching method of separating reading and writing.Then,the experiment class and the control class were conducted for 16 weeks,and the differences of English writing ability between the two classes were analyzed.The results show that under the inquiry teaching mode,students' writing level and interest in learning have been greatly improved by applying the teaching method of "reading for writing"."Independent exploration" and "comprehensible input" are the essence of inquiry based "reading for writing" English class.In the teaching process of each unit,teachers should be good at exploring and establishing the interaction between text reading and writing topics,promoting students to summarize the essence of text reading independently and apply it to English writing,so as to obtain better teaching effect of English reading and writing.The enlightenment of this study is that in the process of English reading and writing classroom teaching,students' cognitive structure should be considered and teaching design should be carried out scientifically before the class,including class introduction,teaching activities,etc.In the classroom,teacher should carry out targeted activities and control the classroom rhythm,play a good role as a guide in the inquiry class,make full use of the contents of textbooks and teaching materials,combine reading and writing organically,and make students feel the fun and achievement brought by reading to the greatest extent.Let students be willing to read and write,so as to improve students' ability of written expression.
