Research On Crusade Against Wang Ching-wei Propaganda In Joongang Daily(1939-1941)

On December 29,1938,wang ching-wei,vice President of the kuomintang,sent out a "brilliant message",advocating peace talks with Japan.After that,he openly colluded with Japan,went to Japan or held talks and consultations with Japan in Shanghai for many times,and in March 1940,he set up another "national government" in nanjing to oppose the national government in chongqing.Wang ching-wei's act had a bad impact on the overall situation of the Anti-Japanese War.In order to eliminate this influence,various organs,organizations and individuals carried out the propaganda of crusade against wang ching-wei spontaneously.After the incident of wang ching-wei's defection,the kuomintang tried its best to reduce its bad influence by various means.In this respect,kuomintang's joongang daily news,which is the kuomintang's official newspaper,is also its most important public opinion propaganda front.After wang ching-wei defected,the newspaper expressed the kuomintang's opposition to wang's position.From the perspective of time,it lasted six years from January 2,1939,when the kuomintang expelled wang ching-wei from public office,to November 13,1941,when the death of wang ching-wei was announced.From the view of crusade against wang ching-wei,the news has published articles,electricity,whereabouts,publicity activities.In order to enhance the propaganda effect,the central daily focused on shaping the image of wang ching-wei as a traitor,emphasizing that he was a traitor of the nation,a traitor of the party and state,a puppet of the Japanese aggressors,a capricious speculator,and played down or even denied his past contributions.As the representative of the kuomintang party media,the joongang daily has shown its unique characteristics and won the support of the kuomintang high level in its propaganda reports.However,due to the nature of the party media,the newspaper lacks independence in the anti-wang propaganda,and its readability and influence on the rear are also limited.On the whole,the central daily's anti-wang publicity has achieved good results.At present,there is a relative gap in the academic research on this issue.This paper intends to take the crusade against wang ching-wei propaganda of kuomintang's joongang daily as the research object,mainly analyzes the ways,contents and characteristics of the propaganda,and summarizes the influence and shortcomings of the propaganda.
