Pierre Bonnard(1867-1947)is an important painter who connects Impressionism and Modernism in France from the end of 19 th century to the beginning of 20 th century.He often uses memory and imagination as inspiration and reference in painting,breaking the traditional image structure and order concept of sketching,and his works have a strong sense of obscurity and symbolism.He absorbed Impressionism,symbolism and the essence of Japanese floating world painting,and formed his own artistic language with his own characteristics through his own innovation and development.Bonnard's paintings are always permeated with a kind of romantic and gorgeous beauty,which is basically that he has a unique organization and arrangement for the rhythm of the picture.He is good at adjusting the rhythm of the picture.He chooses the shape,color and volume of the picture subjectively.He expresses his understanding and pursuit of beauty through the movement of lines and the movement caused by the warm and cold colors.Therefore,the rhythm of Bonnard's painting creation not only gives people the enjoyment of visual beauty,but also reflects their self-cultivation,aesthetic and subjective feelings.This paper makes a comprehensive analysis of the rhythm of Bonnard's pictures,and explores the artistic charm of Bonnard from a new and unique perspective,as well as the inspiration for his watercolor creation.The structure of the paper is divided into three parts: first,it summarizes the concept of the rhythm of painting and its relationship with the rhythm in music;second,it shows its unique artistic language by analyzing the rhythm of shape,color and stroke in Bonnard's painting works;finally,through the research and study of Bonnard's painting works,it discusses the effect of Bonnard's picture rhythm on the author's realistic creation Enlightenment.
