The theme of "Daughter Country" can be seen in the China's Pre-Qin period, and later became a classic in Wu Chengen's "Journey to the West".Therefore, under the upsurge of film and television adaptation of traditional classics, the plot of "Daughter Country"in "Journey to the West" has become a focus of attention for film and television adaptation. This article takes the film and television adaptations of "Journey to the West" and "Daughter Country" as the main research objects in different periods, and is supported by cult urology, theories of history and film and television, and mainly uses methods such as comparison and film criticism to explore the traditional classic literature and film gains and losses of the adaptation. This article focuses on the three adaptations of the18,the 86,and the 68 editions.By comparing the plots of Tang Monk's clearance, the reason why the 86 edition of Journey to the West's "Daughter Country" is more successful than the other two films is that Tang Monk did not rely on external assistance but self-salvation.The spiritual core contained in the original work is considered as a classic.According to the analysis of the main characters in the three adapted films,it is believed that although the characterization of the three films reflects the aesthetic value of the times, the 68 and the18 editions are market's aesthetic-oriented and they lost the cultural dominance, and then causes audiences' esthetic fatigue. The change of the Queen's image from the 86 edition to the 18 edition is a kind of self-salvation from suppressing the self to breaking through the shackles, showing the emphasis on woman's awareness in the adaptation of contemporary film and television. However, the queen of the 68 version and the "Ruyi Zhenxian" of the 18 version have been shaped overly cater to the public's aesthetic. From the film adaptation of "Daughter Country" in "Journey to the West",it can be seen that the current market's pursuit of classic adaptations should pay more attention to quality. The film and television adaptations of masterworks should be innovated on the basis of inheriting the core spirit of traditional outstanding culture and weigh the balance between public aesthetics and creative adaptation.
