Against the background of the prosperous development of China's modern senior high school education,the education of private school enters a new stage.With the characteristics of enterprise management and the two-way selection in personnel management in private schools,teachers have become more passionate and vigorous than before,which makes the advancement of many educational reforms and new educational conceptions more successful and efficient in private senior high schools.Since cooperative learning was introduced to China in the early 1990 s,it has changed the traditional teaching mode where the teachers take control of the class and the students passively accept the knowledge,which is in line with the concept of student-oriented,mutual-learning in private schools.Cooperative learning strategy has thus been popular in private senior high schools.The purpose of action research is to explore how teachers can solve practical problems in the process of teaching.Based on the cooperative learning action research in a private senior high school in Anshan,this paper aims to solve the practical problems in the actual situation by the exploration of teachers' self-reflection.On the basis of relative theories in cooperative learning and combining the teaching situation in senior high school English class with the psychological features of senior high school students,the thesis mainly explores the following problems: 1.Can cooperative learning stimulate private high school poor English learners' learning motivation? 2.Can cooperative learning be used as a cutting point to improve the students' English scores? 3.Can cooperative learning help with the students' autonomous learning ability?As a private senior high school English teacher,to stimulate students' study initiative and improve the teaching efficiency,the writer did a research in Class 6,Grade 2(46 students)and Class 10,Grade 2(46 students)in the first term of 2016?2017 in a private senior high school in Anshan with cooperative learning strategy.The writer adopted the traditional teaching method in Class 10,as the controlled class and adopted cooperative learning strategy in Class 6,as the experimental class.The research tools the writer used are questionnaires,tests,the analysis of test data and interviews self-reflection dairies and so on.The result of the research shows that cooperative learning plays an important role in students' English improvement in private senior high school.Cooperative learning can stimulate the students' initiatives to study,improve their English scores and cultivate the students' autonomous learning ability.
