“Beauty Of Trees” A Study Of Kaii Higashiyama Painting Art And Its Influence On Me

Kaii Higashiyama is a famous Japanese artist;together with Kayama Matazo and Hirayama Ikou,they are known as "Three Yamas" of Japan.Kaii Higashiyama had an extremely rich experience in painting,whose painting style combines the characteristics of eastern and western arts and Japanese painting.He was a lifelong lover of painting,expecially preferred European art.He traveled to many European countries after finishing his studies,and left behind lots of valuable paintings and essays to the world.He visited China for many times to paint from nature in such cities as Beijing,Huangshan,Guilin,and Xi’an.Excellent Works as Moon Night of Guilin,Spirit of Mountain and The Scenery of Mount Huang After Rainfall were all created in those days.The theme of "Trees" runs through his whole painting career,he liked to travel and painted from nature,and often experienced the beauty of all living things in nature.He blended his rich life experience into painting and created unique landscape works.Taking the "Trees" as the breakthrough point,this paper makes a discussion of Kaii Higashiyama’s art of painting.The paper is divided into five parts,which goes as follows:Part one is the introduction to the paper,which expounds the research contents,research status and research methods.Part two mainly expounds the personal experience and artistic thought of Kaii Higashiyama.Part three moves to the "Trees" ——theme of Kaii Higashiyama’s painting,which elaborates Kaii Higashiyama’s love knot in trees.From the perspectives of influence of Japanese traditional culture on him and his worship to natural life,it makes an analysis of the reasons why Kaii Higashiyama preferred "Trees" as the theme in his paintings,which provides a strong support for the paper to proceed.Part four mainly analyzes the beauty of "Trees" in the works of Kaii Higashiyama.In this part,it makes an exploration of characteristics of "Trees" in the painting works of Kaii Higashiyama from such three aspects as the color,form,and artistic conception.By adopting such assessment methods as theoretical interpretation and examples of works,this paper analyzes Kaii Higashiyama’s thought and his pursuit behind the artistic creation.Part five expounds the enlightenment and influence of Kaii Higashiyama’s art on the author’s painting creation,which is divided into three points as follows.Firstly,the influences that Kaii Higashiyama’s construction of "Trees" and its image exerted on the author.Secdonly,the influences that Kaii Higashiyama’s painting color exerted on the author.Thirdly,the inluences that the artistic conception in Kaii Higashiyama’s paintings exerted on the author.This part mainly focuses on the comparison and analysis of the paintings and graduation creation the author created during the graduate studies.It is concluded that the beauty of Kaii Higashiyama’s art is ultimately attributed to his deep humanistic spirit and image shaping and with his spiritual self-cultivation.Based on the discussion of Kaii Higashiyama’s art of painting,the author is enlightened to make a profound thinking of painting,and a clear goal and direction of the future road to the art is extablished.
