Writing,as an important language skill,is a kind of comprehensive language application ability for students to express their feelings.It also occupies an important proportion in various entrance examinations.However,the traditional product approach,which is widely used in the English writing teaching of junior high school,ignores model text analysis before writing,process guidance during writing and multiple evaluations after writing.This result-oriented writing teaching mode directly leads to lack of writing interest and good writing habits besides writing obstacles,thus making students unable to write articles with rich content,correct language and clear structure.The process genre approach,which has the characteristics of high efficiency,initiates from specific situations and includes four stages of model analysis,collective imitation,independent writing and editing revision,during which the required language knowledge and writing skills were provided by the teacher.In recent years,process genre approach has been applied to English writing teaching by some college and high school teachers,which has effectively improved students' English writing ability,but it is mainly suitable for students with higher English level.Students' English writing level of junior high school is still in the development stage,which is not conducive to the application of process genre approach to English writing teaching in junior high school,resulting in little related research.Worksheet can help junior high school students with limited writing ability to understand complex writing tasks quickly and deeply through clear instructions,which contributes to the application and spread of process genre approach in English writing teaching of junior high school.However,at present,there is little study on the worksheet based on the process genre approach.Therefore,this study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the process genre approach implemented through the practice of worksheet tasks in English writing teaching of junior high school and attempt to solve the following questions:(1)To what extent can the process genre approach using worksheet improve students' writing ability?(2)How can the process genre approach using worksheet stimulate students' interest in writing,reduce writing obstacles and cultivate good writing habits?To solve the above problems,this study adopts the experimental research method,questionnaire and interview.The experimental class adopts the process genre approach using worksheet,while the control class adopts the traditional product approach.By using Graph Pad Prism 8.0 to analyze the pre-test and post-test writing scores of the two classes,the following research results are obtained:(1)The process genre approach using worksheet can significantly improve the students' English writing scores,in which the writing content and language are significantly improved,but there is no significant difference in the structure.(2)The process genre approach using worksheet which selects the model texts and topics according to the students' hobbies and needs,makes students actively participate in the whole writing process,thus arousing the students' interest in writing;it also helps students reduce writing barriers,such as the lack of language knowledge and writing skills besides the influence of Chinese thinking style through model text analysis,encouragement of showing real feelings and cooperative learning;it cultivates students' good writing habits through model analysis,brainstorming,outlining before writing,focusing on the cohesive article while writing,peer evaluation,self-evaluation,teacher evaluation and editing after writing.In conclusion,the experimental results indicate that the process genre approach using worksheet is feasible and effective in English writing teaching of junior high school.
