Children's selective trust refers to their preference for information provided by others and others in the face of limited information. In this study, children aged 3 to 5 years(33 to 63 months)in eight kindergartens in a prefecture-level city were selected as subjects. The experimental design was completed using a single information source paradigm. The effects of age, role of information provider and tone on selective trust were explored. This study includes two experimental designs. In experiment 1,270 children participated, using a mixed design of 3(infant age: 3 years,4 years,5 years)*3(information provider role: mother, father and teacher)*2(item type: work and family).Among them, the child's age and the role of information provider are variables between subjects, and the item type is variables within subjects. The results show that:(1)age has a significant impact on children's selective trust;(2)role has a significant impact on children's selective trust, and among the three roles, mother has the most significant impact on children's selective trust;(3)item type has a significant impact on children's selective trust;(4)age and role interaction is significant, mother has a greater impact on children's selective trust at the age of 3,and teacher has a greater impact on children's selective trust at the age of 4.The selectivity of children aged 5 and 5 had a greater impact.Father's selective trust in 5-year-old children has a greater impact.Experiment 1 proves that the mother has the greatest influence on children's selective trust among the three roles.Next, through Experiments 2,the author demonstrates whether the same role(choosing mother)uses different tones(affirmation and doubt)to influence children's selective trust. In experiment 2,180 young children participated in the experiment.Three factors(age: 3 years,4 years,5 years)and two factors(mood type: affirmative mood and interrogative mood)were used to design the experiment.Among them, age and mood type were variables among the subjects. The results show that:(1)age has a significant impact on children's selective trust;(2)mood has a significant impact on children's selective trust;(3)age and mood have a significant interaction.Children aged 3-4 are more likely to choose information providers who believe in affirmative mood in learning new things, and 5-year-olds are more likely to believe in information providers of interrogative mood. Two experiments demonstrate that age, role and tone have significant influence on children's selective trust.Compared with fathers and teachers, mothers have more influence on children's selective trust behavior.Different moods(affirmative mood and interrogative mood)used by the same role(mother)have different effects on children's selective trust behavior. With the growth of age, children's selective trust in the role changes, their selective trust in the teacher gradually increases, and their preference for interrogative tone is gradually greater than that for positive tone. This study simulates children's choice of trust behavior in real life scenarios, which not only enriches the research results in the field of children's choice of trust, but also provides an empirical basis for future research in this direction.
