Since the establishment of dance department in Xiamen Art School in 1958,school dance education in Fujian Province has experienced a series of hardships from zero to one,from weak to strong,from technical secondary school level to master level.By 2018,it will coincide with the 60-year situation,and the dance education in Fujian has formed a considerable situation.Therefore,this paper takes the 60 years development of school dance education in Fujian Province(1958-2018)as the main research object.Through consulting a large number of literatures,and interviewing with 35 dance educators in the past 60 years,this paper tries to systematically sort out the basic development of school dance education in Fujian Province in the past 60 years,and analyze the reasons for its formation.Full paper divides school dance education in Fujian Province into six chapters,among which the previous five chapters can be split into five different periods in terms of additional development in dance education and related political and cultural background.The starting period(1958-1969): The opening of the dance department of Xiamen Art School and the dance department of Fujian Art College is the hallmark of Fujian Dance Education;the stagnation period(1970-1974): During the “Cultural Revolution”,the school dance education in the province came to an abrupt end;the recovery period(1975-1996): Fujian Art College has just awakened and set up branches throughout the province;the development period(1997-2009): colleges and universities set up dance majors,Fujian Normal University established a master's degree in dance;the standard period(2010-2018): All levels of schools adjust and standardize dance disciplines,conduct real and detailed descriptions of each period,trace the roots as much as possible,and explore the reasons for the development of school dance education at various stages.The sixth chapter summarizes seven characteristic during mentioned dance education development,which can be concluded as below: the historical evolution of dance education in regional schools in Fujian Province has a geographical spread from point distribution to linear distribution,the nature of running a school changes from public to public dominated with private supplement,school running changes from relying on other art disciplines to running independently,school level gradually develops to higher andstandardized stage,major setting transforms from single to multiple,local special courses turn out to be increasingly prominent,employment changes from uniformly distributed situation to self-employment.Based on the above characteristics and analysis,this paper proposes that private schools should be encouraged to set up dance majors,expand new categories of dance professional setting,dig deep into regional special dance courses,promote the opening of dance courses in primary and secondary schools,strengthen inter-university cooperation and exchanges at home and abroad and inherit the outstanding education concept of famous dance masters.Through the study of the 60-year history of Fujian school dance education and its causes,the history is used as a guide to provide some constructive opinions for the future development of dance education in Fujian schools,and on this basis,the regional dance education and the national dance education are personalized.Exploring the differences between the two,distinguishing the characteristics and shortcomings of the region in the difference,can also be used as some historical experience of regional dance education,and make its due contribution to the healthy development of national dance education.
