| The Peony Pavilion is a gorgeous resplendent pearl throughout the history of classical Chinese literature,based on whose keynote,Luan kai has recomposed a vocal work of new classical folk tune fusing with other popular elements,like Kunqu opera,Popular music as well as Rap and so on.All of those enable it to capture a strong artistic feature of Kunqu opera and be an impressively representative classic Chinese national and pop vocal music innovative work;Pu sa man is a song,a typical classical vocal work with tunefulness,created by Liu Huan,serving for a well-known costume drama named “Empresses in the Palace”,who uses transformations of folk modes flexibly,allowing the constant motion and variation among keynotes.This essay will explore and analyze those two classical Chinese vocal works via three parts.A summary concerning the literary environment where they are created will be included in the first part.The second part will cover the interpretation on the distinctions of musical styles between the Peony Pavilion and Pu sa man in terms of theme,developing methods,musical structure,as well as their classifications,melodic structure、lyrics、the expression of emotion and aesthetic connotation.In the third part,the works will be interpreted in terms of three aspects,involving the designs on the leading characters,vocal characteristics and means of tackling emotions,rooting in the research on the way of singing.According to the analysis on the two works,the insight into the classical vocal works will be strengthened,which can set a firm theoretical and practical foundation for the similar works. |
