Reading is the most common way for people to obtain information,and it is also one of the key target skills in English teaching.Therefore,teachers and students have invested a lot of energy in the development of reading skills,strategies and methods,but the actual situation of the harvest has not reached the results what they expected.One of the reasons is that many teachers use teacher-centered,duck-filling traditional teaching methods in the reading teaching process.This “centered by teachers and passively accepted by students” traditional teaching mode has weakened students' interest in learning English reading.In response to this teaching situation,it is very important for teachers to adopt the interactive teaching mode(ITM)in English reading teaching.This thesis analyzes the interactive teaching mode by the organic combination of constructivim “student-centered teaching” theory and cooperative learning theory.The interactive teaching mode is based on the educational idea of “student-centered development” and emphasizes student-centeredness in the reading process.It focuses on the role of interaction,encourages students to participate in interaction and fosters innovative thinking.The author conducts interactive learning in groups or between groups through the application of interactive teaching mode in English reading teaching in junior middle school.Based on the research related to the interactive teaching mode,the paper intendsto solve a total of two issues.1.Is the application of ITM in English reading teaching conductive to improve students' positive attitude in English reading learning?2.Can the application of ITM in English reading teaching improve students' performance in English reading learning?In this study,two parallel classes(2)(the experimental class)and class(3)(the control class)of Grade Eight in Forty-one Corps School are selected as the research subjects.The experiment of the research lasts a semester.The routine reading teaching is implemented in the control class,and the interactive teaching mode is introduced in the experimental class.This research analyzes students' attitudes towards English reading learning including interest in English reading,motivation,importance of reading and interaction through questionnaires and interviews.What's more,through the test paper including pre-test and post-test as well as interviews,this paper analyzes the students' English reading scores.With the help of SPSS 22.0 analysis,the author draws the following conclusions.1.The application of interactive teaching mode in English reading teaching can effectively improve students' attitude towards English reading learning.In the four dimensions of the questionnaire,the average value of the post-questionnaire has increased to different degrees than the pre-questionnaire.2.The application of interactive teaching mode in English reading teaching can also effectively improve students' English reading performance.In detail,the mean value of the reading from experimental class(13.39)in the pre-test is similar to that of the control class(13.25),and there is no significant difference.In the post-test,the mean value of the reading in the experimental class(15.59)is 1.89 points larger than that of the control class(13.70).Moreover,the average reading score of the post-test in the experimental class(15.59)is increased by 2.20 points compared with the pre-test(13.39).This research proves that the interactive teaching mode is practical and feasible in the English reading teaching of junior middle school and it is of great significance to promote the development of junior middle school English teaching.In themeantime,teachers should constantly optimize and adjust the interactive teaching mode in accordance with the actual situation of students,so that it can play a greater role in English teaching.
