As we all know,junior high school is an important period to cultivate students' foreign language ability.However,there are many problems in English teaching,students' English writing ability is also unsatisfactory.Most teachers only pay attention to the input of knowledge,but do not pay attention to the output of students' knowledge ability.Professor Wen Qiufang of Beijing Foreign Studies University put forward a teaching theory with Chinese characteristics--the Production-oriented Approach(POA)to improve the imbalance situation between input and output in China.Subsequently,many experts and teachers have explored this theory and applied it to practical teaching.In order to improve the current situation of junior middle school English writing teaching and develop students' English writing ability,the author integrate POA into junior middle school English writing teaching,and explore whether it can improve junior students' English writing ability.In the action research,the experiment lasted for one semester(18weeks).The subjects of the study were 40 students of Class 4,Grade 8 in a junior high school in G city,J Province.The class is currently taught by the author.The author carried out two-round of action research in this thesis.Each round of action research is carried out in accordance with the teaching process of POA.Here are the specific research questions:1.What is the influential degree of POA on the English writing scores of junior high school students?2.What is the impact of POA on junior students' interest in English writing?3.How to apply POA in middle school English teaching?This research adopts action research method and observation method.Interviews and tests were used as two survey tools.SPSS was used to collect and process the data.Three conclusions can be drawn as following:1.The POA theory can improve students' English writing scores.2.POA can stimulate students' learning interest in English writing.3.In order to apply POA in teaching,teachers can design teaching activities according to the “motivating-enabling-assessing” teaching process of POA.In addition,according to the research results,this action research verified the effectiveness of POA in middle school English teaching.Besides,the author puts forward some teaching findings and inspirations from the application of POA and gives some suggestions for future research.
