With the introduction of the concept of basic education curriculum reform in China and the development of new methods of independent cooperation in inquiry teaching,the teaching practice of English reading in China has undergone great changes.However,from the actual English reading teaching,many teachers still use the traditional teaching methods to instill the knowledge into the students,which reflects the mechanized training mode and the limited learning methods.For primary school students,this teaching method is very unfavorable for their English reading and learning.In particular,students' interest in learning cannot be stimulated,and even mechanized English reading teaching makes the separation between English knowledge communication and cultural environment.Happening.The English reading teaching mode based on the meaning of the subject can transform English knowledge into reading problems,and at the same time,it is associated with students' daily life,allowing students to explore through multiple themes to help students to read and learn in a specific cultural environment.This is of great significance for the improvement of students' interest in learning and the cultivation of good reading habits.In this study,the literature data method,questionnaire survey method and interview method are used to analyze the current English reading habits of primary school students and teachers' teaching methods,and summarize the problems and influencing factors.This paper conducted experiments and tests through 640 students in grades three,three,four,five and six of A primary school,so as to analyze the effect of subject-based inquiry teaching mode on primary school English reading teaching and propose targeted measures.After experimental research,it shows that the current interest gap between primary school students and English reading is very large.The proportion of students with strong English reading interest is relatively small,and there are many students who are not interested,which shows that most students have poor English reading habits.Second,primary school students have very poor English reading materials.At the same time,students' active awareness is relatively poor.Students' reading skills and reading habits still need to be improved.From the actual investigation,many primary school students recognize the importance of English reading.Desire to change the current situation.It can be seen from the current situation of primary school English teachers' reading teaching that teachers are not scientific enough in the instructional methods of English reading and lack sufficient time.After researching these problems,the author analyzes the English reading teaching method based on the meaning of the subject,and needs to improve from the three aspects of cutting into the theme,close the theme and the subject of perception,and on this basis,create a variety of different teaching programs.After the experiment,it can be found that the English reading habits of primary school students have gradually changed,and the students' interest in learning has also been improved.We must renew our reading concept and improve our teaching level.Constructing thematic resources to stimulate students' interest.Pay attention to teaching strategies and improve reading skills;Pay attention to the curriculum,enrich students' life and other aspects of advice,to meet the needs of primary school students in English reading.
