English writing,one aspect of output skills,is an essential indicator of students' comprehensive language ability.However,English writing performance of senior high school students is not optimistic at present.In view of this phenomenon,in recent years,an increasing number of scholars have attempted to introduce prefabricated chunks into English writing,and found that prefabricated chunks exert a positive effect on writing.In order to improve senior high school students' English writing level,the research will be guided by the prefabricated chunk theory and adopts prefabricated chunk writing teaching,aiming at exploring the following issues: 1)What changes have taken place in terms of students' attitudes towards English writing and their awareness of prefabricated chunk after the implementation of prefabricated chunk approach? 2)Can prefabricated chunk approach improve students' English writing proficiency? 3)Are there any significant differences about the amount of prefabricated chunks used by students in English writing after the experiment?Then the author selects students in the Senior Grade Two of Fuzhou No.15 Middle School as research objects,and selects Class One as the experimental group(EG)and Class Two as control group(CG).The former adopts prefabricated chunk writing teaching,while the latter receives traditional teaching in writing.At the beginning of the semester,the author conducted a questionnaire survey and writing test to the students in the two groups.At the end of the semester,the author conducted a questionnaire survey on the students in EG and a writing test on the two groups in order to understand the changes of students' writing attitude,prefabricated chunk awareness and writing performance.Then SPSS13.0 is utilized to analyze the data from the experiment.The results show most students become confident in English writing,and their awareness of prefabricated chunk writing is greatly enhanced after the implication of prefabricated chunk writing teaching.In addition,the writing score of post test in EG has been greatly improved compared with those in CG.In the meanwhile,the amount of prefabricated chunks used by the students in EG is not only significantly higher than that before the experiment,but also significantly higher than that of the students in CG.This shows the application ofprefabricated chunks in writing plays a positive role,which also provides some referential suggestions for senior high school English teachers to solve the problems in English writing teaching.
