On The C-E Translation Of Garden Cultural Landscape From The Perspective Of Eco-Translatology

As a gleaming Chinese artistic gem,the Chinese garden is increasingly favored by tourists from all over the world for its unique architectural forms and cultural connotations,and serves as a bridge which enables the world to have access to traditional Chinese culture.Therefore,how to deal with the translation of the Chinese garden has become an important research topic.Under the guidance of eco-translatology and taking Wang Manliang's translation Chinese Gardens as the research corpus,this thesis studies the translation process of Chinese Gardens through examples,explores how the translator selectively adapts to translational eco-environment,and makes adaptive selection and transformation in cultural,linguistic and communicative dimensions.The research shows that the translation process of Chinese Gardens is a process in which the translator constantly adapts to translational eco-environment and makes his adaptive selection.Wang Manliang fully adapts to such components as the readers' needs and the translator's competence in translational eco-environment of Chinese Gardens.Besides,the translator achieves the adaptive selection and transformation in cultural,linguistic and communicative dimensions by adopting foreignization,domestication,literal translation and free translation so as to avoid cultural shock and better enhance cultural exchange.Hence,in the process of translating,the translator should take cultural differences,readers' acceptability and the translation's readability into account,thereby realize the communicative function of the target text.The study on the translation of Chinese Gardens from the perspective of eco-translatology has great research value,which not only demonstrates the charm and cultural connotations of the Chinese garden,but also makes crucial practical and realistic senses for spreading Chinese culture.
