As a tool of international communication,English plays a more and more important role in the development of modern society.However,oral English teaching has been a weak part for a long time,so it is the common demand of teachers and students to explore a new oral teaching model.Therefore,the interactive teaching method based on constructivism learning theory,input-output theory and social interaction theory came into being.It is a unique and creative practice of teaching and learning in which teachers and students communicate,interact and promote each other through a certain situation,using certain technologies and methods,and using purposefully and systematically two-way or multi-directional information transmission.So the interactive teaching method is beneficial to create active classroom atmosphere,enhance students' learning interest and promote students' overall development.This thesis mainly deals with three questions:(1)How does the interactive teaching method affect the interest in spoken English of the Grade 5 students in the rural primary school?(2)How does the interactive teaching method affect the oral English performance of the Grade 5 students in the rural primary school?(3)What are the strategies for improving the spoken English of the Grade 5 students in the rural primary school based on interactive teaching method?This thesis takes the 48 students who are in Grade 5 in Harbin Fangtai Central Primary School as the research subject.During the four-month study,students in the two classes that one is controlled class and the other is experimental class were surveyed through questionnaires,oral tests,and interviews to obtain relevant data.Finally,it summarizes the shortcomings and problems of this research and looks forward to future research.It is hoped that the interactive teaching method will be applied better to our English classroom.The feature of this thesis is that the interactive teaching method will be applied specifically to the oral English teaching in primary schools and solve the problems encountered by students in the oral English teaching.Meanwhile,some suggestions on how to combine interactive teaching method with English will be put forward.
