Static assessment plays a dominant role in senior high school English teaching in China for a long time.However,this method emphasizes writing results rather than writing process,which can not improve students' writing ability in essence.Dynamic assessment,a new evaluation concept,combines teaching process with evaluation,which has drawn much attention among domestic and foreign scholars,and has been applied to English teaching of basic education gradually.Taking the process writing method as a theoretical reference,this study applies dynamic assessment based on mediated learning experience theory to English writing teaching in senior high school,and intends to certify the feasibility and effectiveness of dynamic assessment in improving students' writing ability by combining teaching intervention with dynamic assessment.This research is designed to answer three questions as follows:1.What is the effect of dynamic assessment based on mediated learning experience theory on students' writing process?2.What is the effect of dynamic assessment based on mediated learning experience theory on students' use of writing strategies?3.What is the effect of dynamic assessment based on mediated learning experience theory on students' writing ability?The author selects two parallel class in the first grade of Lvshun No.3 senior high school in Liaoning Province as the research participants,and carries out the teaching experiment for one semester.In the experimental process,the experimental class(EC)adopts the dynamic assessment based on mediated learning experience theory to writing teaching,and the control class(CC)adopts the traditional writing teaching method.The research instruments are tests,questionnaires and interview and all the data is collected and analyzed by SPSS 23.0.The research results show that: first,dynamic assessment based on mediated learning experience theory has a great impact on students' writing process,such as stimulating students' innovative thinking,promoting the interaction between students and teacher,improving students' writing autonomy,and so on.Second,dynamic assessment based on mediated learning experience theory encourages students to learn and use writing strategies better in their daily writing and the whole writing process.In addition,dynamic assessment based on mediated learning experience theory improves students' writing ability in four aspects:composition length,ideological content,language expression,and organizational structure.This study offers some insights into the present evaluation system of English writing teaching in senior high school,and also provides practical experience for applying dynamic assessment to English writing teaching in senior high schools.It is beneficial to the pluralisticdevelopment of writing evaluation and has certain significance to improve students' English writing level.However,this study also has some limitations.For example,students of different personalities and different levels will have different responses to teachers' mediated strategies and interaction,as well as the effects,but these factors are ignored in this study.In a word,this study is an innovative attempt in English writing teaching in senior high school.
