Reading plays a significant role in our daily life and occupies a large proportion in the formal examination,which decides students' development indirectly.However,there exists a shortcoming in English reading teaching: teachers teach knowledge without a particular situation.Therefore,students cannot understand deeply and totally.Under this long-term teaching model,students with a low reading interest do not take part in classroom activities actively that affects the improvement of reading grades.Situation teaching method can give the initiative to the students and respects students' dominant position.Teachers design teaching activities which expose to students' real life according to the reading content and tasks,so that students can participate in activities actively.Teachers cultivate students' English reading interest as well as direct students to solve problems in order to develop autonomous learning ability with appreciation.Meanwhile,their English reading comprehension scores are improved and a relaxing environment is established.The thesis attempts to answer the following three research questions:Question 1: To what extent does the situation teaching method improve junior high school students' English reading interest?Question 2: To what extent does the situation teaching method improve junior high school students' English reading autonomous learning ability?Question 3: To what extent does the situation teaching method increase junior high school students' English reading comprehension scores?Based on the constructivism,multiple intelligence and input hypothesis,the experiment lasted four months in order to know students' English reading interests and autonomous ability.And eighty students were involved as well as six students in EC with different reading levels were interviewed.The data that can be analyzed by SPSS were collected by the questionnaires and tests.The experimental results show that students' reading grade is significantly improved.Meanwhile,students are more active and develop an autonomous study in the activities.Situation teaching method motivates students reading interest,cultivates autonomous ability,and improves grades to a large extent.English learning becomes more and more organized and interesting in a junior high school' classes.Teachers also increase the teaching skills which benefit for teachers as well as students.
