Research On The Impact Of Confucius Institute On China's Outward Foreign Direct Investment

The Confucius Institute has been an organization to promoting Chinese language and spreading Chinese culture to the world for 16 years.At present,Confucius Institutes,Confucius Classrooms,and Confucius Culture Teaching Sites are blooming in 154 countries(regions)around the world.Holding each cultural exchange event has become a daily business of the Confucius Institute.At the same time,more and more Confucius Institutes have organized think tank forums to promote China's foreign cultural exchanges,increase opportunities for talent exchange in various fields,and promote economic cooperation.Therefore,it is of great significance to further explore the impact of Confucius Institutes on China's foreign direct investment.This work summarizes and analyzes the transmission mechanism of the impact of the Confucius Institutes on China 's foreign direct investment,and the presentation of the Confucius Institutes and China 's foreign direct investment,using POLS and LSDV methods to study the impact of Confucius Institutes on China 's foreign direct investment.The results show that: First,the Confucius Institute,as a link between Chinese and foreign cultural exchanges,has a positive role in promoting China's foreign direct investment.The second is the effect of the Confucius Institute on China's foreign direct investment.There are differences among countries with different economic levels,and its role in promoting investment in developing countries is more obvious.Third,there are differences in the transmission mechanisms of Confucius Institutes to promote China's direct investment in countries with different economic levels.Its transmission mechanism to promote China's direct investment in developed countries is mainly manifested by: reducing the negative impact of cultural differences on investment through cultural exchanges;mutually promoting with Bilateral Investment Treaties,and promoting investment by enhancing the protection of direct investment by investment agreements.For developing countries,the impact of Confucius Institutes and Bilateral Investment Treaties on China's foreign direct investment has a certain substitution relationship.It mainly makes up for the shortcomings of the existingBilateral Investment Treaties that are significantly less effective in protecting investment,thereby promoting the Investment in developing countries.At the end of the article,based on the specific situation of the Confucius Institute and China's foreign direct investment,combined with empirical research results,how to make better use of the influence of the established Confucius Institute,how to establish a new Confucius Institute in a more scientific way,and how to help Chinese companies to upgrade overseas Smoothly carry out investment and business activities.Suggestions should be made to strengthen the connection between the Confucius Institute and local Chinese-funded enterprises,to scientifically increase the Confucius Institute while focusing on its quality improvement,to rationally use the Confucius Institute's heterogeneous transmission mechanism for countries with different economic levels,and to strengthen the collaboration between enterprises and the Confucius Institute.
