In the history of western music, the baroque period is an important historical stage, which gave birth to many outstanding musicians and left many excellent musical works. In this period,Handel was a very representative composer, and his creation subjects were diverse, which covered almost all musical genres of the baroque period.Julius Caesar is the most representative of Handel's works, and it is also the most frequently performed opera in Handel's works. The whole opera with soprano aria as the core content,Cleopatra's song "Piangero la sorte mia" shows Handel's superb creative techniques, rich expression.Because the work requires the singer to grasp the voice and dramatic performance,it became one of the classics that sopranos must choose in vocal training and competition. The author of this paper, based on her own singing experience and from the background of opera creation, makes an in-depth analysis of the aria from the aspects of the music itself, singing skills, dramatic emotion, analysis of stage performances and so on.Through a comprehensive understanding of the aria "Piangero la sorte mia",the author hopes to improve the singing ability of the baroque period vocal aria, and provide reference materials and suggestions for the singers to learn this work.
