Self-affirmation is important for reduce the individual's defense response caused by threats,to view threats from a more comprehensive perspective,and to harvest and grow from threatening but valuable information.In previous studies,self-affirmation manipulation was often used to view self-value lists or to write self-worth.However,this self-affirmation intervention method has a large difference from the self-affirmation resources that people will contact in daily life.It is not universal and cannot promoted the positive effects of self-affirmed into daily life.With the rapid development of the Internet,WeChat has become a daily medium for people to obtain information and a platform for self-presentation.In the study of Toma and Catalina(2013),it was found that individuals viewing Facebook profile have the same effect of self-affirmation as the classic self-intervention paradigm,so this study wants to explore whether individuals can self-affirm through the WeChat Moment,which information platform are closely related to our daily lives.In addition to studying the self-affirmation intervention paradigm,is self-affirmation will enhance or weaken the individual's cognitive task performance? What about the existence of complex internal mechanisms such as mediation and moderation? A lot of further empirical research is needed.Moreover,there are relatively few studies on the mediation and moderation of self-affirmation in previous studies.This study selects the intrinsic motivation and achievement motivation that related to task performance to test the mediating effect and moderating effect respectively,in order to make a meaningful supplement to this category.This study will focus on self-affirmation of the new manipulation paradigm.In Study 1,61 students were used as samples to conduct experimental research to test whether the content of WeChat Moments can play a self-affirmation effect.On the basis of effective maneuvering,Study 2 tests the impact of self-affirmation on cognitive task performance,and conducts experimental research with 62 college students as samples.After determining the impact of self-affirmation on cognitive task performance,the mediating effect of intrinsic motivation between self-affirmation and cognitive task performance,in Study 3,we will use SPSS23.0,PROCESS and other tools to explore the adjustment model,and test the mediating mechanism of achievement motivation in self-affirmation through intrinsic motivation affecting task performance whether it plays a regulatory.The study finally came up with the following results:(1)The browsing of WeChat Moments can play a self-affirming effect and can be used as a manipulation method;(2)Self-affirmation significantly positively affects the individual's cognitive task performance,the self-affirmation group's cognitive tasks performed better;(3)Intrinsic motivation partially mediated the association of self-affirmation and cognitive task performance;(4)The mediating effect of achievement motivation is not significant.
