For a long time,Disney animation has not only occupied a core position within the animation market in the United States,but also witnessed and led the development of American animated films,from its humble beginnings to its present-day status as one of the world's foremost animations studios.The success of Disney animation lies not only in the type of animation,music,audio-visuals and special effects,but also in the vivid,lively,fantastical and interesting characters that profoundly impress upon their viewers.Disney's innovative character creation breaks through the concept of animation design,and promotes its development prospect and leading position in the animation market.In terms of shaping the image of the ‘Princess',Disney animation focuses on the idea of child orientation and emphasizes humanistic care.It expresses the essence of children's spiritual world in an aesthetic way suitable for children,reflects children's living conditions,goes deep into children's hearts and reveals the essence of children's spiritual life.On this basis,14 Disney Princesses were created,including elegant Snow White,kind Mermaid,brave Hua Mulan,melancholy Elsa,etc.With the development of the times,the image of the princess has become more personalized and independent.Each princess has a unique personality and characteristics,which is in line with children's life,perspectives and interests,and is the product of the combination of children-oriented character design and animated films.Guided by this children-oriented design philosophy,this paper focuses on the analysis of the image types and aesthetic characteristics of the princess in Disney animation,and uses the script ‘Callum Chasing the Stars' as a framework to conduct a concrete analysis of the character shaping strategies used by Disney.This paper is divided into introduction,three chapters and the conclusion.In the introduction,this paper mainly expounds the research purpose and combs the research status at home and abroad.The first chapter is the atlas of children oriented and Disney animation princess image,which defines the concept of childrenoriented and analyzes the birth and development trends of Disney princess image.The second chapter analyzes the aesthetic characteristics of the ‘Disney Princess' in animation from the perspective of children-oriented character design.According to the three types of Disney princess,it analyzes the image from the visual structure,fairy tale and game characteristics of princess modeling,so as to elaborate the view of children-oriented character design in the creating of the iconic ‘Disney Princess'.The third chapter analyzes the use of children-oriented character design in the play‘Callum Chasing the Stars',analyzes the case according to the script created by the author,and explores the process behind children-oriented character creation.
