Language learning is a continuous and dynamic process.As a basic component of language,its learning includes both vocabulary acquisition and attrition.Foreign language vocabulary attrition is a phenomenon in which vocabulary skills are degraded by foreign language users after systematic learning because they do not use the vocabulary for a period of time.This is a common phenomenon that can happen to any language learner,and it is the result of many factors.With the in-depth study of learner individual differences,researchers have found that learning style is an important factor affecting individual differences and has some relationship with the process of vocabulary abrasion.Therefore,this article aims to explore the relationship between different learning styles and vocabulary abrasion.It will help primary school English teachers clearly understand the phenomenon of vocabulary abrasion caused by different learning styles,thereby helping them to adopt different learning methods to resist vocabulary abrasion and improve the efficiency of foreign language vocabulary learning according to their learning styles.Based on Kolb's learning style theory and psycholinguistics theory,this article investigates the learning styles and vocabulary abrasion of serving primary school English teachers,and aims to explore the following three questions:(1)What is the current situation of styles and attrition of English teachers in primary schools?(2)What is the relationship between vocabulary attrition and learning style of primary school English teachers?(3)How to improve the attrition resistance of primary school English teachers' vocabulary?Based on the research questions,this article takes 104 young primary school English teachers as research objects,adopts quantitative and qualitative methods,and selects three research tools(vocabulary test papers,learning style questionnaires,and semi-structured interviews)to comprehensive and multi-angle data.All participants were required to participate in this vocabulary test and questionnaire survey and interviewed five of the English teachers.The questionnaire was based on the Kolb learning style questionnaire,and the vocabulary test format was Wesche and Paribakht's vocabulary test scale.The target word is selected from the "University English Test Band Four Examination Vocabulary Handbook".The data collected through questionnaires,vocabulary tests and interviews were all analyzed by SPSS 23.0.The research results show that:(1)Most of the English vocabulary learned by elementary English teachers in college was abraded,among which the eroded vocabulary was not completely forgotten by the participants,most of them were temporarily difficult to extract,and most of them except for mistaken extraction Can be correctly extracted.(2)The learning style of primary school English teachers is generally in a single state,aggregation type>assimilation type>divergent type>compliant type.(3)The degree of lexical abrasion is negatively correlated with the aggregation learning style,and assimilation There is a positive correlation between learning styles.(4)Teachers have different degrees of vocabulary abrasion in different learning styles,compliant teachers and assimilation teachers are more abrasion-resistant,while aggregated teachers are more vulnerable to vocabulary abrasion.(5)Teachers of different learning styles There are significant differences in vocabulary abrasion.There is a significant difference in the learning style of the abrasion group and the abrasion group under the perceptual dimension.Teachers who are easily abraded are more inclined to abstract and generalize,and teachers who are abraded are more inclined to specific experience.According to relevant conclusions,the author draws some inspirations to better help English learners resist vocabulary abrasion and improve English learning efficiency.Teachers must fully understand and expand their own learning styles and characteristics;university foreign language education realizes the matching of learning styles and foreign language teaching styles,expands foreign language teaching methods,and improves the scientific nature of anti-vocabulary abrasion strategies,focusing on developing their own English language awareness.At the same time,the university integrates college English courses;teachers of different learning styles need to match different anti-vocabulary abrasion strategies,so as to construct their own,personalized learning theories and methods,and improve English learning efficiency.
