The Study Of Korean "Scholar’s Four Friends" False Biography

The false biography of Korea is a new literary style that appeared in the middle and late period of Koryo,which taking the anthropomorphic non-human or things as the object and glorifying them in the form of biography.As the middle link of biography,fable and Korean ancient novels,it’s a very noteworthy phenomenon in the history of Korean literature.But the false biography is not the first in Korea,Han Yu’s "Mao Ying Chuan" in the Tang Dynasty of China can be regarded as the beginning,since then until the period of the Republic of China,there was a continuous flow of various false biography,especially in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.When "Mao Ying Chuan" and other false biography works were introduced into Korea,it was when Korean Han poetry entered the stage of maturity and prosperity,and the literati of all levels accepted Chinese literature widely.Because of its special writing form and the political background at that time,it was quickly loved and accepted by the literati,and created many famous articles which were not inferior to "Mao Ying Chuan".Since then,it has been deeply rooted in the land of Korea.In the Korean false biography,some continued the tradition of Koryo’s writing,while others added the performance methods of the Tang legend and the Ming and Qing dynasties’ "Zhang Hui" novels,which gradually developed into false novels.This part made the sufficient preparation for Korean allegorical novel.Among the many false biography materials,the four friends of the study(writing brush,ink stick,ink slab and paper)are closely related to the creation of literati,even regarded as the symbols of literati,so there are a large number of works belong to the theme,which together with the Chinese works to be a complete stationery system.In the false biography of Korea,not only can we see the political ideal carried by local literati and projection to the social reality,but also see the close cultural communication and interplay between China and Korea in ancient times from the story creation based on Chinese history.Therefore,this paper will focus on the image of the four friends of the study,comb the production and development of false biography,and analyze the content from the setting of the main characters in the four types,explore the writers’ pursuit and more deeper emotions.In addition,this article will also discuss the development process of Korean false biography further in the scope of the object,the combination style and the literary expression these three aspects.
