The early Chinese film critics had strong national characteristics in the process of evolution.In the process from the theater,tea garden and other screening places to the establishment of professional cinemas,the criticism group has produced a group criticism of traditional and old morality in traditional opera films and old citizen films.The rise of professional film newspapers has provided the public media for the critical group,and the collective voice can be realized through this platform.The mandarin duck and butterfly school of literati contributed a large number of script materials to the old citizen films,and their popular novels had a distinct national color.Drama is a traditional feature of the Chinese nation,and the concept of film drama is the basic ideology of the film critics,which inspires their criticism.The emergence of new citizen films means the formation of new ideas.The left-wing films are an important national symbol in the development of Chinese films,and the left-wing film critics formed from them run through this idea.The identity of the critical group changes with the progress of The Times.Initially,in addition to the basic identity of the audience,the critical group also played the role of experiencers.During this period,critical group discourse was initially formed,and film review articles developed from recording the perception of direct stimulation brought by foreign films and a small number of domestic films to discussing the concept of film function,which was a great progress and breakthrough.The 1920 s saw three transboundary changes in identity,with the newspaper,literary and theatrical circles turning to the film world.The circle criticism promoted by the press reflects the pioneering role of the intellectual class group in film criticism.The civil class represented by the mandarin duck and butterfly school expressed their understanding and criticism of traditional ethics and historical costume films.The arts professionals of the dramatic world guide social education and the art of film.Also belonging to the intellectual class is the Chinese neo-sensibilities,who,influenced by the Japanese literary trend,criticized the film with skill and visual aesthetics.The main criticism group in the 1930 s was the left-wing film critics,who served the people at the bottom.Their criticism revealed the social reality,paid attention to the film consciousness,and constituted realistic criticism based on social value judgment.This research consists of four chapters,trying to outline the overall outline and changing process of early film critics in the context of historical development and social process.Group study is not a single line,the analysis of individuals is essential.This paper not only makes a vertical analysis of the early critical groups,but also makes a horizontal analysis of the social,economic,political and cultural aspects.The introduction is divided into three parts,explaining the background of the topic and the significance of the research,the research status and the source of the data,the research methods and the structure of the paper.The first chapter discusses the rising process of the critical group from the introduction of the film to the emergence of the film press.The second chapter studies the critical group of the newspaper and media circle,the span of the mandarin duck andbutterfly school from literature to film criticism,as well as the theoretical criticism and practice of the national film carried out by the dramatic circle.The third chapter studies two critical groups that appeared before 1937 and the 1930s: soft film critics and left-wing film critics.This part weakens the political struggle and ideological debate,and highlights the critical ideas and methods from the two sides' important film critics.The fourth chapter,from the perspective of culture and current development,analyzes the changes of critical group in the historical evolution,how to choose the group psychology and what enlightenment it has on the current film criticism.
