As A Thinker,The Comment About Long Yingtai

In the context of global diversification,Long Yingtai is a typical public intellectual.She is not only a famous writer,scholar,government official and social critic,but also an ordinary daughter,a mother and a wife.The multiple social identities and cultural experiences broaden her writing horizon.She not only analyzes and interprets the practical problems and cultural phenomenons in Taiwan and the international community from the perspective of “global villager”,but also observes,experiences and writes life from the perspective of women.The interpenetration and integration of eastern and western cultural factors in her works also make Long Yingtai an individual case with rich connotation in the multi-cultural context.This paper intends to reveal the spiritual outlook of Long Yingtai's creation throughout the research of her works in different periods,so as to provide materials for facilitating in-depth study of Chinese literature.This paper consists of three parts:the preface,contents and the epilogue.The preface briefly introduces the justification of the topic selected,the research status of Long Yingtai,the purpose and significance of this paper.The main body is divided into four chapters.The first chapter from the perspective of society,taking her early masterpiece The Wild Fire as the investigative object,it analyzes Long Yingtai's social criticism on Taiwain's national character,the educational system and political system to explore her spirit of human cultivation,of exploration and of criticism in time.The second chapter from the perspective of culture,with her culture prose works such as The People in Europe,When She Faced the Sea,Persuade Me with Civilization,as the investigative objects,analyzes her prose of the observation on culture to explore her cognition about eastern and western culture on their respective advantages and disadvantages,which further reveals her conception of the ideal culture.The third chapter from the perspective of history,explores her humanitarian spirit and her pursuit of true kindness,fairness and justice by concentrating on her works about history written after her middle age,such as See the End Of the Century Coming To You,Thinking About the Last Century and This Turbulent World.All these are reflected in her care and compassion for the small and insignificant figures,her concerns for liquidation of historical guilty and reflection human nature.The fourth chapter from the perspective of family,with her familial essays such as See and The Everlasting-Letters to Mei Jun.her collection of stories such as The Silver Cactus and her collection of essays The Beautiful Rights as the investigative objects,explores her sympathy to the plight of women in marriage,the discrete cognition of family and rational thinking of intergenerational relationships.The liberal parent-child education and the philosophy of parents' departure and death are her unremitting efforts and exploration of the ethical relationship.The epilogue summarizes Long Yingtai's works,which reveals the changes of her literary works in different periods and the penetrating ideological clues.The course of Long Yingtai's creation proves that topics she focused on varied historical contexts she was in,but what remained unchanged was her consistent observation and thinking of the outside world.It was her persistence and in-depth thinking on issues and sincere concerns about human that shaped her literary writing.The high ideological content in Long Yingtai's works is the core charm of her literary creation and complement her humanitarian spirit.
