Third-party punishment refers to the punishment imposed on a violator by a party whose self-interest is not directly affected by the behavior of the violator.Compared with the two parties, the third parties who not involved in the incident not only able to see the nature of the incident but also they are more credible because of uninvolving interests, and they can also play a role in maintaining social norms.Social responsibility is not only a relatively stable personality trait, but also an emotional experience in a specific situation. It is manifested that people have correct cognition and positively fulfilled emotions for social responsibility, and take responsibility and responsibility by behavior.Such as consciously practice and maintain social norms.Nowadays, college students are full of passion and ideal ambitions, and most of them have a stronger sense of responsibility and are willing to be guardians of social norms. However, some of them lack awareness of social responsibility and pay more attention to gains and losses at the individual level. Therefore,to explore the relationship between college students' social responsibility and third-party punishment is of great significance to the in-depth study of third-party punishment and the cultivation and education of college students' social responsibility. This article explores the impact of college students' social responsibility on third-party punishment through two experimental studies.Study one,the third party dictator's game behavior experiment was used to investigate the emotion of college students with different social responsibility and the performance of the third party's punishment behavior under the circumstance that the fairness standard was broken to different degrees(In this study, the distributive results are basically fair, relatively unfair and absolutely unfair). On the basis of study 1,study 2 added the variable of punishment cost, adopted the same experimental paradigm, and further investigated the electrophysiological evidence of the impact of social responsibility, fairnessdegree and punishment cost on the punishment of third parties with the help of ERPs technology. The results of Study 1 found that the more unfair the distribution result, the higher the anger and punishment behavior of the third party, and anger can positively predict the punishment behavior of the third party.Compared with college students with low social responsibility, college students with high social responsibility have more anger and third-party punishment under the result of unfair distribution. The results of Study 2 found that under the situation where the fairness norms were destroyed to varying degrees, the amplitudes of P200,LPP and FRN induced by college students with different social responsibilities were significantly different. When the results of absolute unfair distribution appear, high social responsibility college students induce greater P200 than low social responsibility college students(P200 is considered to be related to the emotional nature of dealing with moral stimuli in related research);in the face of three distribution results(Basic fairness, relative unfairness, and absolute injustice)The higher the social responsibility of college students, the higher the LPP volatility induced than the low social responsibility college students(LPP is considered to be related to the degree of stimulus arousal in relevant studies, and the more motivating it is The greater the LPP induced by the stimulus);fairness has a significant effect on the FRN amplitude, and the more unfair distribution results the greater the FRN amplitude.Under the result of relatively unfair distribution, high social responsibility college students are more susceptible to FRN volatility than those with low social responsibility(FRN is considered to be sensitive to violations of social norms in relevant studies). In addition, there is a significant difference in the FRN and N450 amplitudes induced by college students with different senses of social responsibility.College students with a low sense of social responsibility faced a punitive cost less than the FRN amplitude induced when there was no penalty, while college students with a high sense of social responsibility showed no significant difference.Under relatively unfair circumstances, the N450 volatility induced by the punitive cost is significantly greater than that without the punishment. The high-responsibility college students are more susceptible to N450 volatility than the low-social responsibility college students(N450 can represent the resolution and handling of conflict tasks)N450 volatility with penalty costs can predict third-party punishment. In summary,it can be seen from the above results that injustice and theaccompanying anger are the causes of the third-party punishment behavior, and social responsibility has a positive effect on the third-party punishment behavior, while the punishment cost has an inhibitory effect.Students with a high sense of social responsibility have a higher sensitivity to unfairness and a stronger sense of anger(lower tolerance),while students with a low sense of social responsibility have a stronger inhibitory effect on punishment cost.
