A Simultaneous Interpreting Report Under The Syntactic Linearity

With the great development of the Internet industry,the protection of the Internet copyright has got increasing attention in China.Based on the video recorded on the Internet,this practical report truly simulates the 2019 China Network Copyright Protection and Development Conference Main Forum meeting.It regards the speakers' speeches in the forum and the speeches of several important guests as the original text.This simulation practice solves the related problems encountered under the guidance of syntactic linearity.Simultaneous interpretation is a complex language communication activity that requires interpreters to perform the hearing,memory and output of the source language almost simultaneously."Syntactic linearity" also known as the translation,refers to "the interpreter constantly cuts the sentence into individual groups or conceptual units in accordance with the original order of their own heard,and then connect these units naturally,interpret the whole of the original intention." The advantage of the syntactic linearity is the ability to take advantage of the language structure of the original sentence,reducing the burden of information processing.In this interpreting practice,syntactic linearity combines specific strategies to balance interpreter's efforts and poses a positive effect on interpreter.Analyzing the syntactic linearity principle and its application techniques can better guide the practice of this simulation.For the interpreting practice,I choose the material from the meetings of the forums of the protection and development of the Internet copyright in China in 2019.During the process of interpreting,I pay much attention to the problems that I confront in the process of interpretation and then put forward solution.I analyze the concrete application of the syntactic linearity in the Chinese to English interpretation.In the end,I draw a conclusion that the syntactic linearity is helpful to deal with the differences in order as well as culture between Chinese and English.We can accomplish the interpreting task with appropriate methods to reach the aim of communication.
