With the popularization of music education,chorus teaching has achieved great progress,and the achievements of which in Shanghai are highly rated.Given the importance of Children's palace to extracurricular chorus education,China Welfare Institute Children's Palace(CWI Children's Palace),the first children's palace of China,has constantly contributed to the growth of child,the development of school,and the promotion of Young Pioneers since its establishment.It paves the way for the education of children and adolescents.The Little Friends Choir of CWI Children's Palace,a branch of the Art Troupe,is a representative city-level choir in Shanghai.Its chorus teaching has extensive reference value.The development of a choir requires not only good students and teachers,but also factors such as teaching mode and selection of repertoire.We summarized the factors affecting the chorus teaching effectiveness,and then we concluded methods to improve it.As time goes on and educational environment changes,only by continuously thinking in practice and innovating through exploration,can we exploit the advantages to improving the teaching methods and promoting the development of chorus teaching.This paper expounds from the following 3 aspects:Part One: We summarized the state of art education and chorus teaching of China in the early1950 s through studying the history of CWI Children's Palace;We combed the origin and development of the children's chorus in Shanghai via introducing representative personages;We recognized the contributions of Shanghai musicians to Chinese choral education by the early exploration of Little Friends Choir.Part Two: Through the analysis of the source of students,teachers,and the selection of repertoire,we demonstrated the main factors affecting the teaching effectiveness.Then we compared the relationship between different factors and concluded the corresponding closely related teaching conditions.Part Three: By analyzing the cognitive status of choir members of all ages,we discovered three key steps of chorus rehearsal.Simultaneously,we refined valuable rehearsal methods by observing choral rehearsals,as well as appreciating presentations of several classic repertoire.Afterwards,we identified teaching difficulties,analyzed the characteristics of repertoire,and classified the teaching summary,so as to summarize the sufficient methods of improving choral rehearsals.
