A Research Of Ruan Yuan's Philosophical Thought

Ruan Yuan is one of the representatives of Qianjia Textology,whose era is the transition period from the summary stage of Qianjia Textology to the preparation stage before the rise of New Text School.Ruan Yuan reinterprets the important concepts in Neo Confucianism such as "benevolence","heart","nature" and "fate" through textual research and exegesis to criticizes the academic atmosphere of advocating nihilism in song and Ming Dynasty,highlights the practice of academic demonstration and morality,and highlights the close practice of Confucianism in pre Qin Dynasty by emphasizing the previously neglected concepts such as "Da","Shun","respect" and "prestige".This paper mainly focuses on Ruan Yuan's philosophy,constructs Ruan Yuan's ideological system with "reality" as the starting point and the foothold,the "reality" includes not only the demonstration of humanity in method,but also the practice and act of moral performance.The purpose of this paper is to analyzes the two tendencies of "new" and "old" in Ruan Yuan's thought,which are unified in the pursuit of "reality",and shows the ideological tension due to the contradiction between "new" and "old".In this way,we can understand Ruan Yuan's epistemology,methodology,ethics and political philosophy from the perspective of combination of contradiction and unity,so as to grasp Ruan Yuan's philosophy as a whole.
