In response to the rapid development of science and technology in recent times,scientific and technological texts are becoming increasingly common.The scientific and technological texts are highly practical and professional,therefore accurate translation helps people in this field to enhance their understanding and operations of the profession.A high-quality scientific and technological translation is very important as it directly affects readers' understanding.This report is based on the English-Chinese translation of the text Additional EMUs Supply Technical Requirements which contained many terminologies and nominalization phrases.To start with,the features of scientific and technological texts are analyzed from the aspects of nominalization phrases,syntactic,and discourse.Secondly,according to the definition of nominalization phrases and the characteristics of nominalization in this scientific and technological text,the nominalization phrases are divided into verb-nominalization phrases and adjective-nominalization phrases.Moreover,based on the theory of grammatical metaphors,in the translation of verb-nominalization phrases,the translation of affix-derived,v-ing,and zero-derived verb-nominalization phrases are discussed.In the translation of adjective-nominalization phrases,it mainly analyzed the translation of adjective-nominalization phrases as a subject,object,and other sentence constituents.Finally,the translator summarized some solutions and suggestions to the translation problems in this text,such as conversion,word expansion,and deletion of redundant information,so that the translation is more in line with the characteristics of scientific and technological texts.
